The Steamboat Mountain Soccer Tournament "Invitational" will accept Competitive and Recreational teams in U10 - U18 age brackets.
In determining which team level to register for, refer to the last season played, i.e. if played in U13 in 2014 spring or previous fall register your team for U13 for the tournament (provided all guest players meet the classification.) We do allow up to 6 guest players per team but they must NOT have played the previous season ABOVE the level required in your age bracket and division. SMST is a season-ending tournament, so what happened in tryouts in May DOES NOT apply to this tournament. We use your roster/player cards from the season you are finishing, not the upcoming season beginning in August.
Silver Division: All premier level teams will play Silver Division one age group higher than the team's actual age classification.
Bronze Division: May not be available for all age groups depending on amount of regestered teams.
*Premier Teams: Will be accommodated in age groups U11 - U16, however, premier teams will automatically be registered in the Silver Division one age group higher than the team's actual age classification. Premier teams will be accommodated in the tournament in a higher age group at the discretion of the Tournament Director and Registrar.
*U10 - U14 teams: all level of teams accepted, with premier teams playing up in age
*U16 & U19 teams: the highest level U16 & U18 teams in each state will NOT be accepted (or example, Super League teams in Colorado are not eligible to participate in this tournament)
Our rules are based on our league structure within Colorado. We have many teams that come from outside of Colorado, so if you are unsure which division your team qualifies under this rule, please contact our Director at email@example.com.
Q: A U13 team played Premier 2 in the fall and did not play spring season. Are they considered Premier?
A: Yes, they are Premier and will be seeded in the U14 Silver Division
Q: A U12 team has only one Premier guest player. Are they considered Premier?
A: Yes, the whole team would have to play in the U13 Silver Division
Q: After May tryouts, 4 of our players were moved to Premier for the Fall season, are they still allowed to play in the tournament on our team in the Silver division for our age group?
A: Yes, because it is a season-ending tournament, and they are still considered Non-Premier players according to our rules.
Q: What if we have a U18 Guest Player that played on a Super League/Elite team in the spring?
A: This player would be ineligible to play in the tournament.
